 Turning Over Stones ... one turnstone at a time. Turnstones are fascinating shorebirds which are easily recognisable due to their distinctive behaviour and striking plumage. A Celebration of Parish Life St Mary’s Church are very excited to announce our 2025 summer festival. We will be bringing this forward a little this year to Friday 16th May – Sunday 18th May. The fun begins on the evening of Friday 16th May with a ‘Hymns & Pimms’ evening. All are welcome to join us for an evening of singing favourite hymns old and new.  Getting Repairs Done (As a Tenant)
Your landlord is responsible for most major repairs in your home. Write to them as soon as you notice a problem, as you could be held responsible if it gets worse. It’s best to put it in writing and send to your landlord, keeping a copy yourself. If a letting agent manages the property for your landlord, write to them and they should talk to your landlord. Thank you for supporting our Royal Marines Concert at the Anvil. The afternoon of Sunday 26th January saw us hosting the The Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines for our 15th annual concert and they were on great form, with an excellent and varied programme that particularly showcased solos by their very talented band members. Recognising the 80th anniversary of VE day this year we began with ‘Let Freedom Ring’ We had the music from the 1927 film Metropolis and were then shaken up by The Prodigy Medly.
