St Mary’s Church are very excited to announce our 2025 summer festival. We will be bringing this forward a little this year to Friday 16th May – Sunday 18th May.  The fun begins on the evening of Friday 16th May with a ‘Hymns & Pimms’ evening. All are welcome to join us for an evening of singing favourite hymns old and new. Chris Perkins MVO, a member of the Probus Club of Basingstoke and retired RAF Squadron Leader, came across a memorial dedicated to Spitfire pilot Sgt Bernard Bryn Goodall on a grass verge close to the church in Weston Patrick, south of Basingstoke. Thank you for supporting our Royal Marines Concert at the Anvil.  The afternoon of Sunday 26th January saw us hosting the The Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines for our 15th annual concert and they were on great form, with an excellent and varied programme that particularly showcased solos by their very talented band members. Recognising the 80th anniversary of VE day this year we began with ‘Let Freedom Ring’ We had the music from the 1927 film Metropolis and were then shaken up by The Prodigy Medly.
