We will have only one meeting this month. Bringing us bang up-to-date on Britain’s railways, on Wednesday 24th August, Karl Watts, Chief Executive of Rail Operations (UK) Ltd, will present Class 93.
The new Class 93 locomotives, to be delivered initially to Rail Operations from Stadler Rail in Valencia beginning in 2023, will be the most advanced locomotives ever to operate in the UK. Designed primarily for fast container trains, the ‘tri-mode’ (25kV overhead electric, diesel and battery-powered) locomotives will be capable of 110mph.
Our meetings are at 7.45pm at The Wote Street Club in New Road in Basingstoke town centre, RG21 7NG, which has a licenced bar.
