Basingstoke Festival of Transport

Festival of TransportOn Sunday 8th May 2022 the sun brought the crowds to the War Memorial Park for the 31st Festival of Transport organised by Basingstoke Deane Rotary and sponsored by Basingstoke Deane Borough Council. We welcomed a record breaking 20,000 visitors at this free event to see a wide range of transport on show – Pre War Cars, Post War Cars, Commercial Vehicles, Tractors, Stationary Engines, Motor Bikes and Car Clubs.

Best Car in ShowCup for ‘Best car in Show’ presented by the Mayor to Paul Brazier for his 1961 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud ll.

Rotary pledged to donate a minimum of £2,000 from the parking fee at this event to Ukraine Disaster Relief! Proceeds from the Festival will go to mainly local and a few national and international charities.

Amongst the stalls were some of the charities we support, enabling them to raise awareness of the work they do and also to raise much needed funds.

Hosted by Weybrook Park Golf Club, Basingstoke. The course standards are now so high that they were finalists for ‘Club of the Year’ at ‘England Golf Awards 2022’ and so promises a good days golf with your friends whilst raising much needed funds for the important work the charity does.

The Ark Riders they have raised funds for The Ark Cancer Centre Charity and other Charities. Their fundraising has continued and this year sees them riding –
‘TO BATH AND BACK’
11th – 12th June 2022, 160 miles over two days,
Riding to raise funds for The Camrose Centre, for homeless & vulnerably housed in Basingstoke

Basingstoke Deane Rotary is a group of 35 men & women from a wide variety of backgrounds. All live locally in the borough but some commute to work outside Basingstoke. Most joined Rotary to help others less fortunate, and they find Basingstoke Deane Rotary adds another extremely enjoyable dimension to their lives.
