Pet Service and Fayre

Thank You for a Wonderful Pet Service and Fayre!

St Marys church pet service '24We are delighted to share the success of our Pet Service and Fayre; an afternoon filled with love for our animal companions, wonderful community spirit, and an opportunity to support animals in need.

A Special Thanks to Our Supporters:

This incredible team of volunteers has rehomed hundreds of dogs and cats across Berkshire, Hampshire, Kent, and Surrey, often covering significant veterinary costs to rehabilitate sick and injured animals. Their food bank is a support for families struggling to care for their pets during the cost-of-living crisis.

We are pleased to have HDCUK as St. Mary’s Charity of the Month, and we thank everyone who generously donated to their food bank. For more information about how to support their vital work, please visit www.helpingdogsandcatsuk.org/donate

    • Keki’s Guinea Pig Rescue: Dedicated to rescuing and rehoming guinea pigs and rabbits.
    • Helping Wildlife Rescue: Committed to helping the wildlife and animals in the local area that need medical attention, urgent assistance, welfare and or support.
    • The Barn Animal Hospital: Providing pet healthcare in the local area for over 20 years.
    • Simba’s Simply Natural Treats : 100% of profits are used to help good causes including HDCUK
    • The Glass Maidens: Unique glass art and gifts handmade with love for you

Highlights were the guinea pigs available for photo opportunities and Orinoco the tortoise, who enjoyed a bath before being tucked in for winter hibernation! How envious are we that Orinoco gets to rest and recharge while we brace ourselves for the colder months ahead!

Pet Blessing Service

The Pet Blessing Service was a beautiful and moving part of the afternoon. Pets, both present and represented by photos, were blessed in a ceremony that celebrated the bond we share with our animal companions.
We would also like to thank everyone who contributed to HDCUK’s pet food bank, which will help families and pets facing difficult times.  The box remains in situ at St Mary’s for donations.

We hope this event will continue to grow each year, and we look forward to welcoming even more people and pets in the future.
