Upcoming Basingstoke Railway Society Events
Something from our part of the world for the first meeting this month as Stephen Bigley presents The Railways of Hampshire on Wednesday 11th March. Stephen’s talk will take a look at the development of the extensive railway network of the county, illustrating stations, bridges and everything else that makes up the railway, including a few trains.
A pictorial show will follow on Wednesday 25th March when Chris Ardy will present Steam Locomotives from the 1960’s to the Present Day. Part one will look at steam locomotives in the UK from trainspotting days in the 1960’s to preserved and new steam in the present d
ay. The second part of the evening will travel more widely across Europe, China, Cuba and the USA. Variety and contrasts guaranteed.
Our meetings are at 7.45pm at The Wote Street Club in New Road in Basingstoke town centre, RG21 7NG, which has a licenced bar and usually conclude by 10.00pm. Do join us for these meeting, either by becoming a Society member or as a visitor (at a cost of just £5). Membership details are on our website at www.bdrs70d.com or call the Secretary on 07837 320790.
