As we come out of the horrid COVID episode we have begun to receive details of local events that are planned, we really hope that they can go ahead and we can start to get back to some level of normality!
So, the poster competition has been restarted with the couple of eligible entries we have received so far, lets hope that things get better from now on.
St Mary’s Summer Festival – Concert by Paul Wright (St Mary’s organist)
Organ concert by Paul Wright which will open up our festival weekend on Friday 25th June at 7.30 pm. The concert will be a mix of favourites suggested by you and you are invited to submit any requests via email to email@example.com. If there's a particular reason why a particular piece is your favourite please do let us know.
Croquet: six hoops, four balls, a mallet and a patch of grass. Sounds easy enough?
However croquet is a game of skill and strategy, angles, tactics and guile. A bit like snooker on grass. It is enjoyable at all levels and you don’t need to be an athlete to play it.
There is an excellent facility in Basingstoke with a top class lawn and a cosy clubhouse.
If you would like to give it a try we will be having an open day on Saturday 26th June. Just turn up any time between 10am and 2pm. Equipment will be provided, just wear casual comfortable clothes and flat shoes. There is no charge for try-out. While you are waiting we have some excellent training videos on the website - well worth a look.
If you can’t make it that day please use the contact form on the website and we can arrange a convenient time for you to come for a try-out.
We are based in St Andrews Road in South Ham, please see our website for more information:

Chineham & Sherfield Park Scarecrow Trail
Come and join Basingstoke and District Disability Forum (BDDF) on 24th – 25th July for this fantastic annual community event. ‘The Rolls Royce of Scarecrow Trails’ returns, local residents are busily constructing their entries which follow this years’ theme ‘Heroes and Villains’. Last year, we surpassed all expectations and the hundreds of families that attended enjoyed the 96 amazing entries over 2 trails which covered a total of 6 miles. This year all scarecrows will remain on display until 30th July, so everyone has a chance to complete the trail.
