We were delighted to launch this year’s fundraising focus at the Royal Marines Concert at The Anvil in January. We’re especially excited to be partnering with Hampshire Hospitals Charity to help fund new specialist monitoring equipment for the Maternity Department.

The Cardio Tomography (CTG) machines we’re raising money for play a vital role in monitoring pregnant women and women in labour. The current machines are outdated and can’t be upgraded, so replacing them with modern, data‑rich, fully updatable equipment will make a real difference. These state‑of‑the‑art machines will help make childbirth safer for local families.

This important project will also be at the heart of our fundraising at the Festival of Transport, alongside our ongoing support for many local charities and a selection of international causes.

Supporting Local Charities

People ask, “What does Rotary actually do?”

The simple answer is we’re all about helping and supporting our communities.

As Rotarians, we’re proud to make a real difference each year. We have a great time organising and enjoying events like The Royal Marines concert at The
Anvil and Basingstoke Festival of Transport, and thanks to these efforts we’re able to donate to more than 20 local charities. These include wonderful organisations such as Young Carers, Oakley Stitchers and the Camrose Centre for the homeless.

We also support a number of international projects Including Christmas Shoeboxes, ShelterBox and the End Polio campaign.

It’s not just about fundraising either. We love getting involved handson, helping charities at their own events—often with marshalling, car parking, or whatever else is needed. One of our regular commitments is supporting St Michael’s Hospice at all their fundraising events, including providing refreshments for the Moonlight Walk.

Together, we have fun, make friends, and make a difference in our community
