Our May presentations promise yet more interesting variety in our programme.
On Wednesday 11th May, Mike Bunn, an expert on French railways, returns to tell us about the Paris Suburban Railway System. This meeting starts at the slightly earlier time of 7.30pm.
Then, on Wednesday 25th May at our usual meeting time of 7.45pm, Dr David Turner will take us on a historical exploration of Beer by Rail 1830 – 1914. David will examine the nature of beer traffic on the Victorian and Edwardian railway and the challenges of road transport before World War 1.
As usual, our meetings are at 7.45pm at The Wote Street Club in New Road in Basingstoke town centre, RG21 7NG, which has a licenced bar. We welcome new members to the Society and are always pleased to see non-members at our meetings at a cost of just £5. Membership details are on our website at www.bdrs70d.com or call the Secretary on 01256 331002.
