U3A Members Knit for Ukraine

Bobby Bears and Winter Warmers for Ukraine

Following an appeal, u3a knitters have produced a large bag of Bobby Bears for the police this year They’re used as comforters for children who need to talk about what they’ve seen or heard (they often tell the bear). Our Group always has charity projects on the go – currently hats, scarves and mittens for Ukrainian refugees, as well as orphanages in Eastern Europe. And last year they helped birds and hedgehogs too, knitting nests for an animal sanctuary!

Meanwhile Many of Us Met on Our Annual ‘Meet & Greet’ Day

Our activities continue as people met to renew their annual membership recently, with others deciding to join in the fun for the first time. We still have over 50 activities to enjoy: sports, games, learning, science, arts, dance, literature, trips – to name but a few. But our members are bringing new ideas too, so check out Current Affairs, Local History, Very Relaxed Duplicate Bridge, Backgammon, and French beginners too! All for just the one membership fee.
