Upcoming Basingstoke Railway Society Events
We can all take photographs of preserved locomotives and stations now, but on Wednesday 8th April Richard Coghlan will present Before They Were Preserved. Richard will illustrate these locomotives and stations in their ordinary working lives, before they were considered for preservation.
On Wednesday 22nd April we will welcome Society member John Hollands who will draw on his extensive collection of railway-themed picture postcards dating from the early 20th century onwards to present. John’s “at work” selection will show one or more railway workers carrying out a variety of roles on the railway.
Our meetings are at 7.45pm at The Wote Street Club in New Road in Basingstoke town centre, RG21 7NG, which has a licenced bar and usually conclude by 10.00pm. Do join us for these meeting, either by becoming a Society member or as a visitor (at a cost of just £5). Membership details are on our website at www.bdrs70d.com or call the Secretary on 07837 320790.
